TO THE LFSF ANIMATION CLUB
About
The LFSF Animation Club is a creative hub where ideas come to life through exciting animations, bringing students' stories to the screen and inspiring audiences across our school community and beyond.

Interviews & Events
Our club goes beyond watching (or creating) films! We ask questions and learn directly from directors, character designers, and storytellers shaping the industry today. Explore our exclusive interviews and special events with animation professionals. Join us in uncovering the art, business, and science behind the animation!
Interview with Mr. Jean-Claude Kalache, the Director of Photography at Pixar Animation Studios.
Interview with Mr. Siddartha Maram, PhD at UC Santa Cruz, talking about culture, faith, and storytelling in video games and animation.
Event we organized at our school, with Mr. Gabalda, Senior Director of Licensing at Ubisoft, a French video game company.

Our club attended a special screening organized by SFFILM at Lucasfilm: the Netflix's animated movie "In Your Dreams". There was a Q&A with the team of the movie (including Simu Liu!) Our club's founder got the chance to exchange a few words with the director of the movie, Alex Woo, also founder and CEO of the Kuku Studios.

Another amazing special screening organized by SFFILM ( a huge thank you to Keith Zwölfer, Education Director of this amazing non-profit based here in San Francisco!): K-POP Demon Hunters, at SFMOMA this time, with a special behind-the-scenes presentation plus a meet & greet with Joshua Beverifge, Head of Character Animation at Sony Pictures.

Our club organized a one-hour masterclass at our school with Ugo Bienvenu, director of the award-winning animated film ARCO. Thanks to the initiative and coordination of our club’s founder, who maintained an ongoing relationship with SFFILM’s Education Director, we were able to bring this exceptional opportunity directly to our campus. More than 150 lucky students attended the event, including middle and high school classes. During the session, Mr. Bienvenu spoke about his creative journey, his artistic influences, and his intentional use of color and visual storytelling. Students engaged in a thoughtful Q&A and witnessed a live drawing demonstration, gaining firsthand insight into the professional animation process. The event reflected our club’s mission: to create meaningful bridges between students and the animation industry!
Hermione is a short animated poem about the historic French frigate Hermione, the ship that carried the Marquis de Lafayette to America during the American Revolutionary War through poetry, storytelling, and visual art. Created for the Culture Without Border poetry contest, the film was presented during French Cultural Day at the Lycée Français de San Francisco on March 14, 2026, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States and the historical ties between France and America.
